Thank you for considering me to be your guide in creating a new website for your coaching practice. As a small business owner, you have a unique perspective. Better than anyone else, you know your customers, your business and your needs. That is why I work with coaches just like you to provide a sustainable website solution which includes the knowledge and skills to manage and maintain your coaching website your own. It's a solution that is not only flexible and easy to use, it's a solution that will grow with you and your coaching practice to meet your business needs.

As a Life Coach myself, I share a certain understanding of your needs. Whether you are a personal coach or business coach, you are likely already have many of the skill you need to manage a website on your own.

Who can do this?

If you are reading this, you probably have the basic skills you will need to run your own website. The prerequisites are to be able to use a word processor like Word or WordPerect and to be able to use a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. All you actually need is a website, a little orientation and a little guidance... really!

How does it work?

Before our session, you will:

Get a complimentary no-obligation Website Strategy Session with me. Since it is important to us to be a good fit, we will get to know each other a little. We will also discuss your vision and expectations for your website to ensure that our time together results in your desired outcome.
Be required to complete a Clarity Guide Questionnaire before our session together. This guide will help you get a clear idea of what it is that you want in your website.

The day of our one-on-one session, we will:

Arrange for Website Hosting service (if you don't already have). This is where your website will live on the Internet.
Arrange for your website address, called a Domain Name (if you don't already have one). For example, www.yourcompany.com
Arrange for your professional looking email address. For example, yourname@yourcompany.com
Setup your website including customizing it. This includes creating a custom banner that could include things like your picture, your logo and a background. It also includes customizing the colours of your web page including the background, the text, the menu and the links on your page.
Work to ensure that you have the knowledge and skills you need to create and delete pages on your site, add text and graphics, and even learn how to make downloads available to visitors to your site.
Create up to 5 pages together (you will be able to create as many as you like afterwards)

You will also get a free subscription to my newsletter.

After our session, I will:

Email you your user name and password as well as both the address of your public website and the address to the administrative site where you will make changes to your public site.
Provide you with some additional information and links which you may find useful.

How much does it cost?

Starting a new business can be expensive and I have gone out of my way to create a very affordable basic Tech Coaching service. I manage to do this by taking advantage of an easy to use, flexible and expandable website that is based on an Open Source project that is actively being developed and supported. I have also invested hundreds of hours of development to ensure that this package better meets your needs as a coach.

Other than my tech coaching fee to help you get setup, there is no cost for the software. My fees will depend on your needs, however I can assure you that you will receive excellent value for your money.

Your ongoing costs for owning a website will include:

Payment for Web Hosting Services. This is basically renting space on the Internet where your website will be stored. The fee will be payable to the company that will host your website (not me) on a monthly or yearly basis, depending on the company you deal with. PLEASE contact me before purchasing this service to ensure that it meets the technical requirements for your new coaching website. I can recommend some very affordable and reliable services that go for about $10-$20 per month, possibly even less.
Payment for your Domain Name. This is payable to the domain name registrar (not me) on a yearly basis. The registrar is often the same company who provides you with the Web Hosting Services. The cost is typically about $10 to $20 per year, depending on the name of the website you choose. For example, website names that end in .ca could be more expensive than names that end in .com. Although some places will charge you more, most provide you with the same service.

To create and manage your website, you will need access to a desktop or notebook computer connected to a high speed Internet connection.

You will not need to purchase any special software. Since the management of your website is all done over the Internet, it will not require you to install any software on your computer. All you need on your computer is a web browser and an Internet connection.
